Rhossili

3 reviews

If you want a natural latex mattress which is uniquely supportive the Rhossili is the one for you. The Rhossili mattress is made using three separate pads of natural latex. A thicker latex core that has two shallower layers top and  bottom help give a softer feel but with lots of support. Organic wool layers add the final touch of comfort. It is approximately 21cms deep and guaranteed for 15 years.

Natural latex is made with sap from the Hevea Brasilensis (rubber tree) and is a natural alternative to memory foam. All our latex is certified to either FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) or GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard). For more information about these certification bodies please contact us. The whole mattress is certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard by the Soil Association and hand made in Wales.

  • 18 cms Natural latex core
  • Soft layers of organic wool
  • Organic herringbone cotton
  • Wool tufts to hold layers securely

* Photo shows the mattress split as 2. All Rhossili mattresses can either be split or come as a whole mattress. Photo looks identical to Raglan but the difference with the latex mattresses is their height.

Think you need to buy a mattress in-store?

There is a preconception that you have to buy a mattress in-store. Click here to read about why this is not always the best way.

No two people sleep in exactly the same way. Some of us sleep on our backs, others on their sides, and some on their tummies. There is lots of research that claims that sleeping on your side is best, because it takes the strain off the back and hips, and women tend to favour this position. It’s really important for side sleepers not to choose a mattress that’s too firm, as there needs to be plenty of give to support the curve of shoulder and hip.

Approximately ten to fifteen percent of the population sleep in their backs, and it can be problematic because it encourages snoring and sleep apnoea. However if that is your favoured position then a firmer mattress will help support your lower back.

If you sleep on your stomach you need to make sure that your mattress is always in tip top condition. If the mattress is too soft then your spine is thrown out of alignment and there isn’t enough support for your neck which can cause back pain.

Clearly the most important thing that affects quality of sleep is comfort, so ensuring that your mattress supports you properly is crucial. Weight plays a part when you’re making the decision about which type of mattress to buy, and the chart below is a guideline that will help you make a decision.  At the heavier end of the scale it’s important to realise that a Firm mattress may need a topper so that there is both support and cushioning.

Makes such a difference

I just wanted to write to say a big thank you for my new mattress. It makes such a difference to be comfortable in a bed in which I have to spend more time than most (due to the ME / CFS). I’m sure I’m sleeping better too, which really helps. People like you make life more bearable. I hope your business continues to grow; I’ve recommended your products to my friends and family.

Rhosilli Mattress

Thanks to you and all your team for our Rhosilli mattress.  It is so comfortable – just like sleeping on a cloud.  Well, how I would imagine that would be.  My husband says he has no aches or pains in the morning now.  The support it gives us great for both of us.  Absolutely no off gassing when we in unwrapped it.  My only concern was that I might find it a bit warm, being latex, but it is actually better in the respect than our previous mattress, which covering had some polyester in it. So lots of thanks
