Menai
Wool is the perfect filling for a luxurious mattress. It has strength, softness and durability. The Abaca Menai mattress has three and a half kilos of wool per square metre which makes for one of the most comfortable mattresses you’re ever likely to sleep on.
Research has shown that wool is the natural choice for sleeping on or under to give you a great night’s sleep. Despite common misconceptions about wool being ‘hot’, the wool fibre actually helps to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Wool also wicks moisture away without retaining it, so the chance of mould or mildew developing in the mattress are minimal.
Finally, this mattress is made up of materials that are re-cyclable and biodegradable so it won’t need to go to landfill at the end of its life.
Wool is naturally fire retardant, please read the information here from the International Wool Textile Organisation.
The Menai is made using a hand framed pocket sprung unit with side supports. It is approximately 22 cms deep and guaranteed for 12 years. It's fillings are purely wool and it has an organic cotton cover. Certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard by the Soil Association and hand made in Wales.
The Menai is available as a soft, medium, or firm in whatever size you require.
